Frequently asked questions
Understand the work before deciding.
These first-build answers will be refined with Pearl before launch.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative, thought-provoking process that supports a client’s awareness, learning and chosen action. The client remains responsible for decisions and outcomes.
How is coaching different from consulting or therapy?
Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, and it does not automatically prescribe a consultant’s solution. When another professional service is more appropriate, SageStride may recommend that the client seek suitable support.
Who does SageStride work with?
Senior leaders, executives, experienced professionals, teams, organizations and ACC, PCC or MCC coaches seeking mentor coaching or development.
What happens in a discovery conversation?
We clarify the context, desired outcomes, timing and practical needs, then consider whether the partnership and proposed structure are appropriate. It is not a coaching session and does not create an engagement until written terms are agreed.
How long does an engagement last?
The duration and cadence depend on the need. Individual, team, mentor-coaching and organizational programs may require different structures. The recommended scope is discussed after discovery.
Is coaching confidential?
Confidentiality expectations and their limits are documented before work begins. In sponsored coaching, private session content is not shared with the sponsor unless authorized or required by the agreement or law.
Do you offer virtual services?
Yes. SageStride is based in Maryland and can work remotely where legally and professionally appropriate. Availability and delivery details are confirmed during discovery.
Does mentor coaching guarantee an ICF credential?
No. Mentor coaching can support development and credential preparation, but ICF determines eligibility and award decisions. Coaches should confirm current requirements directly with ICF.
Can programs be customized for organizations?
Yes. Discovery identifies the audience, context, learning objectives, timing and appropriate format before a proposal is prepared.
How do fees and cancellations work?
Fees, payment timing, rescheduling and cancellation terms will be stated in the proposal or service agreement before an engagement begins.
